Executive Summary
Beatnik Technology successfully designed, developed, and implemented a nationwide digital database and management platform for Community Paramedics in Bangladesh under the ASTHA project by Swisscontact. The primary objective of this initiative was to digitally transform and centralize verified Community Paramedic information, making it accessible, scalable, and future-ready for nationwide healthcare collaboration.
This project combined large-scale data operations, field verification, geo-location intelligence, and modern web application development into a single integrated ecosystem.
About the ASTHA Project
The ASTHA (Achieving Sustainability Towards Healthcare Access) project is a long-running healthcare initiative by Swisscontact in Bangladesh focused on improving access to quality healthcare services in rural and underserved communities.
Since 2011, ASTHA has been working to strengthen the Community Paramedic (CP) programme by collaborating with the Bangladesh Nursing and Midwifery Council, healthcare institutions, private sector organizations, and development partners. The initiative focuses on improving training standards, expanding employment opportunities, enhancing healthcare accessibility, and modernizing the digital ecosystem surrounding Community Paramedics in Bangladesh.
Project Scope
Beatnik Technology was responsible for the complete end-to-end execution of the project, including:
- Nationwide Community Paramedic data collection
- Data verification and validation
- Geo-location data acquisition
- Digital portal architecture and development
- Multi-level access management system
- Secure profile management system
- Future registration and onboarding workflow
- Deployment, maintenance, and operational support
Large-Scale Data Collection & Verification
One of the major challenges of this project was collecting and validating information from thousands of Community Paramedics across Bangladesh.
To successfully execute this operation, Beatnik Technology established a dedicated call center operation with multiple trained agents who conducted structured communication and multi-stage verification processes through direct phone calls.
Our team successfully:
- Collected data from approximately 4,000 Community Paramedics
- Verified and validated professional information
- Conducted multi-layer screening and authentication
- Gathered additional operational and professional details
- Ensured database accuracy and consistency
This process helped build a highly reliable and trusted nationwide healthcare workforce database.
Real-Time Geo Location Collection System
To enhance the authenticity and usability of the database, Beatnik Technology developed a custom geo-location API system integrated directly with the digital platform.
Verified Community Paramedics received secure access to submit real-time location data through the integrated web application. This allowed the platform to accurately identify healthcare workforce distribution across different regions of Bangladesh.
The geo-location integration significantly improved:
- Data accuracy
- Regional accessibility mapping
- Healthcare coverage visibility
- Future planning and coordination capabilities
Digital Platform Development
After the completion of the verification process, Beatnik Technology designed and developed a fully scalable digital web platform where verified Community Paramedic profiles are now accessible online.
The platform includes:
- Advanced profile management system
- Role-based multi-level access control
- Future Community Paramedic registration workflow
- Secure admin dashboard
- Dynamic search and filtering system
- Nationwide accessibility
- Scalable database architecture
- Cloud-based deployment infrastructure
The system was built to support long-term expansion and future integration opportunities for healthcare stakeholders, NGOs, employers, referral networks, and healthcare institutions.
Impact & Outcome
This project helped establish a centralized and verified digital ecosystem for Community Paramedics in Bangladesh, improving visibility, accessibility, and coordination opportunities nationwide.
The platform now enables healthcare stakeholders to:
Access verified Community Paramedic information
Connect with healthcare professionals more efficiently
Improve healthcare workforce visibility

Support future healthcare planning initiatives
Improve healthcare workforce visibility
Technology Stack
The platform was developed using modern enterprise technologies, including:
- Laravel for Backend Development
- React.js for Frontend Design
- Figma for UX/UI Deisng
- PostgreSQL for Database
- Server AWS Cloud Infrastructure
- REST API Integration
- Geo-location Services
